Our Angel Award-winning UNICEF campaign set out to prove a simple truth: When more people see themselves represented, more people pay attention.

We produced this UNICEF Diversity in Caribbean Advertising video way back in December 2023, got all the approvals and then it sat. For months. It almost never got released until I eventually stopped waiting for the client to post it and shared from @10caribbean’s pages in January 2025.
Why? Because I felt the findings in this report were too important for Caribbean advertisers and viewers to miss. In Caribbean advertising, women are:
-5× more likely than men to be objectified
-7× more likely to appear in revealing clothing
-2× more likely to be shown in domestic spaces
-2× more likely to have lighter skin tones
These numbers affect how we see ourselves so the conversation mattered. And it’s great that we’re still having this conversation in December during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence.
While we’re talking numbers, 10 Caribbean is 01 of just three Caribbean agencies to take home a Gold Award at the AAF 2025 Angel Awards. I hope our win encourages more persons to showcase the powerful social impact work happening right here in our region.

On Monday, we learned that 10 Caribbean received an Angel Award from @aafdistrict4 for excellence in public service advertising across Florida and the Caribbean.
Today I’ve finally had a moment to process what this honor means for us.
01 - It helps get UNICEF’s message about Diversity in Caribbean Advertising in front of more people who need to hear it. Thank you to PCI Media and all our partners who’ve helped amplify that message so far.
02 - It reinforces our commitment to social impact marketing and hopefully opens the door for us to do more meaningful work with companies and organizations we love and respect, helping them deliver their message in impactful ways.
As we approach 10 Caribbean’s 8th Anniversary on Friday, this feels like a milestone, a reminder of why we started and why we’ll keep doing what we do. ❤️
